Paul Breslin
Why I'm Participating

There won't be many left in Brenter on May 5th, half the townland seem to be gearing up for "100 To Home". They'll have to start their own cycling club around those parts!

We're delighted to have Paul Breslin as a participant in this unique fundraiser, he was very forthcoming when approached and has been very committed toward his training. Don't be surprised in the lead up to it if you spot him cycling to work, with his ladder and tools in tow, exemplifying how committed he is!

Paul & Máirín became involved when their two eldest, Cora & Lelia Rose began with our newly established academy team. Wasn't long before Paul was coaxed into helping out with the team, he and the rest of the coaches are quite useful enforcing the riot control duties involved when looking after our young gang of children!

His connection to the club is quite special, given that his father, Paddy Breslin, held the midfield position in the inaugural Naomh Ultan team of 1975. Paddy, a notable footballer in his own right, was also part of the Donegal team panel during that era, placing himself among esteemed company of players who represented both our club and county!

Paul himself played for the club, upon moving back to Ireland in his early teens he togged out for our underage teams and holds a county medal. He was part of the Naomh Ultan team to win the U14 county final in 1995, the first underage country title in the club's then short history!

While he didn't continue playing into adulthood, it is great to have him back involved again. A handy man to have around the place with constant construction and development occurring at Páirc Naomh Ultan.

After May 5th, Paul can revert to using his bicycle for transportation to and from the village, eliminating the need to rely on the Local Link and granting him the freedom from adhering to a fixed schedule!
